National ( The cow news digital ) Severe dust storms, strong winds, and intermittent rainfall wreaked havoc across several districts of Sindh, including parts of Karachi, on Tuesday night, disrupting daily life and causing widespread damage to infrastructure and the power supply system.

According to reports, the intense weather conditions led to power breakdowns in multiple areas after transmission lines and grid infrastructure were damaged. Several regions experienced prolonged outages as trees were uprooted, solar panels were blown away, and electricity poles and wires were snapped due to strong winds.

In Karachi, various neighborhoods including Scheme 33, Shadman Town, Malir, Orangi Town, Baldia, Gulshan-e-Maeemar, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Shah Faisal Colony, Bahria Town, Buffer Zone, Nazimabad, and Federal B Area were affected by dust storms. However, officials noted that the intensity in the city was relatively lower compared to interior Sindh, resulting in minimal reported damage.

In interior Sindh, Nawabshah, Shahpur Chakar, and surrounding areas witnessed strong winds accompanied by dust storms and rainfall. While residents welcomed the cooler weather after days of intense heat, electricity disruptions were reported in several localities.

Hyderabad and adjoining areas also faced severe windstorms that caused panic among residents. Light rain followed the storm in some parts, but the electricity distribution system suffered major disruption, leaving several areas without power for hours.

Dadu and nearby regions experienced similar conditions, where dust storms were followed by light rain. Although the weather turned pleasant, the power supply system was heavily affected, causing outages in multiple localities.

The most severe impact was reported from Moro, where storm winds caused extensive structural damage. Solar panels installed on rooftops of homes, shops, hotels, and government and semi-government buildings were blown away. Trees were uprooted, and several electricity lines collapsed. At least five people were injured in various incidents and were shifted to hospitals for treatment.

Meanwhile, the Sukkur Electric Power Company (SEPCO) transmission system also suffered major damage due to the storm. According to the control center, multiple 132kV and 220kV transmission circuits tripped after damage to towers, poles, and lines, plunging large areas into darkness.

Officials stated that several key transmission lines from grid stations including Larkana, Shikarpur, Rohri, and others were affected, disrupting power supply across a wide region. In total, 46 grid stations were reportedly impacted, affecting districts including Larkana, Khairpur, Ghotki, Sukkur, and others.

Emergency teams have been deployed on the directives of SEPCO management to restore power at the earliest. Repair work is ongoing, and authorities have urged citizens to remain patient as restoration efforts continue under challenging conditions.
