National ( The cow news digital ) Prominent Islamic scholar Mufti Taqi Usmani has strongly condemned the killing of renowned religious scholar and former Member of Provincial Assembly Maulana Idris Tarin Zai, describing the attackers as individuals who cannot be considered worthy of being called Muslim or even human.

In a statement issued after the incident, Mufti Taqi Usmani expressed deep sorrow over the assassination and extended condolences to the bereaved family. He said that the loss of Maulana Idris is not only a personal tragedy for his family but also a significant loss for the religious and intellectual community of Pakistan.

He emphasized that those responsible for the attack have committed a grave crime that has no justification in religion or morality. According to him, such acts of violence undermine societal harmony and weaken the moral fabric of the nation.

Maulana Idris Tarin Zai, a respected religious figure and former parliamentarian associated with Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, was targeted in a fatal attack earlier this week in the Charsadda area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The incident occurred in the town of Utmanzai when armed assailants opened fire on his vehicle while he was traveling from his residence to a religious seminary.

Police officials confirmed that Maulana Idris was accompanied by two police personnel and a driver at the time of the attack. The firing from behind resulted in his death on the spot, while two police officers sustained injuries and were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Following the incident, authorities registered a First Information Report (FIR) at the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) police station in Mardan. Security agencies have launched an investigation to identify and apprehend those involved in the targeted killing.

The attack has sparked widespread condemnation across religious and political circles, with leaders calling for swift justice and enhanced security measures for religious scholars and public representatives.

Officials have described the incident as part of a broader security challenge in the region, where targeted attacks on prominent figures have raised concerns about law and order.

Investigations are ongoing, and authorities have vowed to bring the perpetrators to justice while tightening security in sensitive areas.
