Sanghar( The COW News Digital) The repostmortem of prominent Karachi journalist Khawar Hussain has been completed, with preliminary findings indicating no external signs of assault or violence on his body. Hussain was found dead inside his car near a private hotel in Sanghar two days ago, and his body was initially kept at Hyderabad’s mortuary.

The second postmortem was conducted at Civil Hospital Hyderabad under the supervision of senior medical officials, following a request by Hussain’s brother, Ijaz Hussain. Police surgeon Dr. Waseem Khan confirmed that the procedure included a CT scan and X-rays to ensure a comprehensive examination. Dr. Khan stated that the final determination of suicide or homicide cannot be made until the complete forensic report is available. The medical board overseeing the process consisted of three experts, including a forensic specialist, who collected necessary samples for further analysis.

Khawar Hussain’s funeral prayers were held in his ancestral village in Sanghar, attended by family members, colleagues, and a large number of citizens. Following the ceremony, he was laid to rest in the village cemetery. The funeral drew significant attention from the journalism community, reflecting Hussain’s long-standing contribution to Pakistani media.

Meanwhile, the investigative committee led by Chairman Azad Hussain stated in a press conference that it is too early to conclude whether Hussain’s death was a suicide or a murder. The police are examining the crime scene, reviewing CCTV footage, and conducting forensic analysis of mobile phones and weapons. Call detail records (CDRs) are also being retrieved to shed light on the circumstances surrounding the journalist’s death.

Hussain’s family, who had been in the United States, arrived in Karachi and proceeded to Sanghar to participate in the funeral rites. His father expressed disbelief that Khawar could have taken his own life, stating, “This is a murder. Khawar was a brave man, and we had no conflicts with anyone.”

Hussain had been a veteran journalist associated with leading news channels including Aaj News and several others. His sudden and mysterious death has not only left his family grieving but has also raised concerns within Pakistan’s media community, prompting calls for a thorough and transparent investigation. Authorities have assured that the investigative process will continue meticulously and the findings will be made public once all evidence is analyzed.
