In a recent development, Omar Ayub has resigned from his position as Secretary General of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), citing his intention to concentrate on his responsibilities as the Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly. PTI founder Imran Khan has accepted Ayub\’s resignation, which was submitted in a letter dated June 22, 2024.
Ayub took to social media to express his gratitude to Imran Khan for accepting his resignation, allowing him to focus on his role in the National Assembly. He also thanked the PTI family, parliamentarians, and Tanzeem office holders for their dedication to the party and its leadership.
According to Ayub\’s post, Senator Shibli Faraz, Leader of the Opposition in the Senate, conveyed his resignation to Imran Khan during a meeting at Adyala Jail. Ayub hinted at further changes in PTI\’s organizational structure, as directed by Imran Khan, in the coming days.
