Islamabad( The COW News Digital)The birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), Eid Milad-un-Nabi, is being celebrated across Pakistan today with deep religious fervor and devotion. The federal and provincial governments have declared a public holiday to mark the occasion.

According to local reports, streets, neighborhoods, and bazaars throughout the country have been adorned with green flags, decorative arches, and vibrant illuminations. Both government and private buildings are decorated with lights, while mosques have been beautifully illuminated to honor the day. The air resonates with recitations of Durood and Salam, while gatherings of Naat recitals are being held in various cities.

Special arrangements have also been made for the distribution of food and drinks among the public as part of the celebrations. Law enforcement agencies have ensured foolproof security measures across the country to maintain peace and order on 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal.

In his special message on the occasion, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif highlighted the significance of the Prophet’s birth, calling it a moment that transformed darkness into light, bringing humanity the message of justice, mercy, equality, and unity. He said that this year is being marked as the “Year of Mercy to the Worlds” across Pakistan and beyond.

The Prime Minister recalled that resolutions were passed in both the National Assembly and Senate to commemorate the 1500th birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) with utmost reverence. He stressed that the Prophet’s life serves as a complete and timeless guide, offering lessons in governance, justice, economics, trade, and social conduct.

Quoting the Holy Quran, Shehbaz said, “Indeed, in the Messenger of Allah you have an excellent example for whoever has hope in Allah and the Last Day.” He urged the nation to introduce the younger generation to the Prophet’s teachings in a rapidly changing, technology-driven world, where guidance from his life remains essential for peace, morality, and brotherhood.

Shehbaz emphasized the need to eliminate sectarianism, extremism, and hatred, and to build a society based on compassion, unity, and sacrifice. He underlined that Pakistan’s socio-economic challenges can only be resolved sustainably by making the Prophet’s teachings part of the nation’s collective character.

“Let us renew our pledge today to shape Pakistan on the golden principles of Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH),” the Prime Minister said, praying for Pakistan’s prosperity, unity, and the strength to live by the Prophet’s message of love, peace, and justice.
