The Pakistan Padel Federation confirmed that this marks the first time a Pakistani team has participated in the Asia Cup, and most of the players are also making their international debut. Despite their inexperience at this level, the team displayed exceptional skill, teamwork, and composure on the court.

In the second qualifying match, Pakistan triumphed over Thailand in straight sets to secure their spot in the main round. Earlier in the tournament, the team had already defeated China, setting a strong tone for their campaign.

In the first set against Thailand, Pakistan’s duo of Muhammad Salar and Abdullah Adnan dominated their opponents, winning comfortably with scores of 6-2 and 6-3. The pair’s chemistry and aggressive play left little room for the Thai team to recover.

In the second set, the pair of Muhammad Kamil and Ashish Kumar continued Pakistan’s winning momentum, claiming victory with scores of 6-2 and 7-5, sealing the overall win and confirming Pakistan’s qualification for the main draw of the tournament.

Team officials expressed immense pride in the players’ achievements, emphasizing that Pakistan’s qualification for the main round in their very first Asia Cup appearance is a milestone moment for the sport’s development in the country. The Pakistan Padel Federation highlighted that the players have been training intensively for months under the supervision of local and international coaches, focusing on fitness, coordination, and strategic play.

Padel, a fast-growing racket sport combining elements of tennis and squash, has seen a rapid rise in popularity across Asia, and Pakistan’s strong debut performance signals a promising future for the nation in this emerging sport.

Speaking after the victory, team representatives credited the win to “discipline, determination, and national pride,” and said that the team aims to make a strong impression in the upcoming main round. Fans and sports analysts have lauded the players’ spirit and teamwork, calling the qualification a “historic step forward” for Pakistan in international padel competitions.
