ISLAMABAD(The COW News Digital) Global crude oil prices remained elevated near five-month highs during Asian trading hours on Friday, supported by persistent regional tensions, continued Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabian energy infrastructure, and escalating fears over potential disruptions to global energy supplies.
According to market data, global benchmark Brent crude settled around $112.96 per barrel following a slight 0.2 percent easing in early Asian trade, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude dipped 0.3 percent to $98.12 per barrel.
Despite the marginal daily pullbacks, crude prices have maintained strong momentum. Brent crude surged by 4 percent in the preceding trading session, achieving its highest closing level recorded since early May.
On a weekly basis, Brent crude remains firmly on track for its third consecutive weekly gain, whereas WTI crude faces its first potential weekly decline over the same three-week timeframe.
Energy analysts and global investors remain heavily focused on whether rising geopolitical instability in the Middle East will lead to broader supply chain bottlenecks. Concerns surrounding potential energy flow restrictions and marine transport safety continue to serve as the primary drivers behind ongoing market volatility and elevated oil prices worldwide.
