KOHAT (The COW News Digital) Investigation into the Kohat police lines mosque bombing has revealed direct linkages to Afghanistan, exposing the Afghan Taliban’s double standards regarding cross-border terrorism.
According to investigative authorities, one of the suicide bombers involved in the attack has been identified as Matiullah, an Afghan national. The identification process for the second terrorist remains underway. Officials noted that the involvement of an Afghan citizen in the suicide attack disproves recent foreign media statements by the Taliban spokesperson attempting to deny Afghan involvement in regional terrorism.
Security forces highlighted that this incident provides further evidence that Afghan soil is actively being utilized to launch attacks against Pakistan. Officials referenced recent counter-terrorism operations, including the neutralization of 15 infiltrators near Ghulam Khan last month, five insurgents in South Waziristan’s Shawal area, and an intercepted border crossing in Kurram.
International bodies and global reports continue to highlight terror networks operating under Afghan Taliban patronage. United Nations reports confirm over 20 terrorist groups active in Afghanistan, while US journal publications indicate Al-Qaeda is providing operational training to regional militant factions. Furthermore, UN Security Council President Cristina Markus Lasson and Chinese representative Fu Cong have called upon the Kabul administration to dismantle terrorist training camps and stop harboring foreign militant organizations.
