Multan (The COW News Digital )Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz hit back at critics over the use of an official state aircraft for a personal trip to London, clarifying that she personally paid PKR 27.5 million to cover all incurred flight expenses.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony of the green electric bus service in Multan, the Chief Minister firmly addressed the online scrutiny regarding her travel to attend her daughter’s graduation ceremony in the United Kingdom. She asserted that the provincial aircraft belongs to the office of the Chief Minister, pointing out that chief ministers across all four provinces possess official transport privileges.
“I am answerable strictly to the public, not to online vloggers,” Maryam Nawaz stated during her address. She added that critics target her developmental efforts to gain online traction and financial incentives through digital views.
Reaffirming her commitment to transparent governance, she noted that her administrative duties continue seamlessly regardless of location, emphasizing that state resources were not compromised.
Shifting focus to public welfare and infrastructure, the Chief Minister announced key transport initiatives, confirming that 3,000 electric buses will gradually be deployed across all districts of Punjab, alongside providing 100,000 electric bikes to students.
She highlighted that these eco-friendly transport services target underserved areas that previously lacked public transit infrastructure. Concluding her speech, Maryam Nawaz stated that political pressure and legal threats would not deter her administration from executing public utility projects and law enforcement measures across Punjab.
