Islamabad (The COW News Digital) Pakistan has strongly condemned the reported Houthi militia attack on a power distribution facility in Madinah, Saudi Arabia, reaffirming its solidarity with the Kingdom and support for its sovereignty, territorial integrity and security.
According to Pakistan’s Foreign Office spokesperson, the incident took place on September 29 at the Taibah Power Distribution Station in Madinah. The facility is part of the infrastructure supplying electricity to the Prophet’s Mosque, making the reported attack a matter of serious concern for Pakistan.
The Foreign Office described the attack on infrastructure connected to the power supply of Masjid-e-Nabawi as a serious provocation. It said the incident has caused deep concern and anxiety among millions of Muslims around the world.
Pakistan emphasized that the safety and security of the two holy mosques, as well as worshippers and visitors, must be respected at all times. Islamabad also called for an immediate and unconditional end to actions that could pose serious risks to regional peace and security.
The Pakistani Foreign Office reiterated the country’s firm solidarity with Saudi Arabia and reaffirmed its full support for the Kingdom’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and security. Islamabad also expressed its commitment to supporting Saudi Arabia’s efforts to protect the holy sites and ensure the safety of Saudi citizens, pilgrims and visitors.
The statement comes amid continuing regional tensions involving the Houthi movement and Saudi Arabia. Pakistan said irresponsible actions that threaten regional stability should end without conditions and stressed the importance of maintaining peace and security across the region.
The Foreign Office further stated that Pakistan would continue its efforts to promote sustainable peace and stability in the region. Islamabad has repeatedly emphasized the importance of respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of regional states while seeking peaceful solutions to ongoing conflicts.
The reported attack on the Madinah power facility has drawn particular attention because of its connection to infrastructure serving one of Islam’s holiest sites. Pakistan’s response underlined the importance it attaches to the protection of the Haramain Sharifain and the safety of worshippers and visitors.
