Lahore (The COW News Digital) National cricketer Mohammad Rizwan appeared before the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) in connection with an ongoing inquiry involving the forensic examination and analysis of a confiscated mobile device.

Rizwan was summoned under Section 160 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. The notice sought his cooperation in the forensic examination and analysis of a device that had previously been taken into custody by the authorities.

The Pakistan cricketer arrived at the NCCIA office in Lahore and appeared before the investigating authorities. According to available information, a four-member investigation team is expected to question Rizwan during his appearance.

Sources said the NCCIA team includes one deputy director and three inspectors. The officials are expected to ask questions related to the investigation and the forensic examination of Rizwan’s mobile phone.

Rizwan did not respond to questions from journalists as he left the NCCIA premises. The cricketer reportedly smiled while passing the media and chose not to comment on the proceedings.

This is not Rizwan’s first appearance before the cybercrime investigation authority. The NCCIA has previously issued notices to the national cricketer concerning the forensic examination and analysis of his mobile phone.

The latest appearance follows earlier correspondence between Rizwan and the NCCIA. Reports indicate that the cricketer had also written to the authority seeking further details regarding additional questions raised during the inquiry.

The proceedings are part of the authority’s investigation, with officials examining material obtained from the confiscated device. The forensic process is intended to assist investigators in assessing digital information relevant to the case.

The NCCIA has been conducting the inquiry through its designated investigation team, while Rizwan has been asked to cooperate with the process in accordance with the notice issued to him.

Earlier, former Pakistan captain Younis Khan had described the NCCIA as a credible institution and said Rizwan should follow the legal process. His remarks came amid reports concerning the notices issued to the cricketer and the ongoing forensic examination.

Rizwan remains one of Pakistan’s prominent international cricketers and has represented the national team across multiple formats. His appearance before the NCCIA has attracted significant media attention because of his high public profile.

However, the available information does not establish any finding of wrongdoing against the cricketer. The investigation remains an ongoing process, and any conclusions would depend on the evidence examined by the relevant authorities.

The NCCIA has not, according to the information available here, publicly announced the final outcome of the inquiry. Further developments are expected as investigators complete their questioning and forensic examination.

For now, Rizwan’s appearance marks another stage in the investigation, with the four-member NCCIA team expected to record his responses and examine information connected to the confiscated device.
