National ( The cow news digital ) Tensions have emerged within Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) after allegations surfaced regarding a reportedly undisclosed meeting between senior party leaders and government officials.
Aleema Khan, sister of PTI founder Imran Khan, has claimed that party chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi met with Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi without informing the party founder’s family.
Speaking to reporters, Aleema Khan stated that no member of the family was aware of the meeting and that none of them were present during the discussion. She suggested that the meeting had taken place without proper internal communication, raising questions about transparency within the party’s leadership structure.
Her remarks have sparked debate within political circles, particularly regarding internal coordination and decision-making processes in PTI. The claims come at a time when the party is already facing internal challenges and external political pressure.
In response, PTI Central Information Secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram confirmed that a meeting did take place on 14 May between Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and Sohail Afridi with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi. He clarified that the discussion focused primarily on law and order-related matters.
Sheikh Waqas Akram further stated that no member of Imran Khan’s family was present in the meeting, indirectly confirming part of Aleema Khan’s statement regarding family absence. However, he did not comment directly on the allegation that the meeting was conducted secretly or without prior notification to the family.
The meeting’s purpose, according to party sources, was to discuss security and administrative issues, though details remain limited. The absence of full internal disclosure has led to differing narratives within the party, highlighting ongoing communication gaps.
Political observers note that such internal disagreements could further complicate PTI’s already strained organizational structure. The situation also reflects broader tensions between political leadership, family influence, and decision-making authority within the party.
As of now, neither Barrister Gohar Ali Khan nor Sohail Afridi has issued a detailed public response regarding the allegations made by Aleema Khan.
The matter continues to unfold, with party supporters and analysts closely watching for clarification from PTI’s central leadership.
