National ( The cow news digital ) Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is set to spend a packed day of high-level diplomatic engagements in Beijing as part of his official visit to China, where he will meet top Chinese leadership and participate in multiple bilateral events aimed at strengthening economic and strategic cooperation.
According to official sources, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will hold separate meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang. These meetings are expected to focus on expanding bilateral trade, investment opportunities, and long-term development partnerships between the two countries.
Upon arrival at the Great Hall of the People, the prime minister will be accorded a formal guard of honour by the Chinese armed forces, followed by a ceremonial welcome hosted by Premier Li Qiang. The visit reflects the continued emphasis both countries place on their longstanding diplomatic relationship.
A key highlight of the visit will be the signing and exchange of multiple memorandums of understanding (MoUs) and agreements between Pakistani and Chinese companies, with reports indicating deals worth over $7 billion. These agreements are expected to cover sectors such as infrastructure development, energy cooperation, and industrial investment.
The prime minister will also participate in delegation-level talks with Chinese officials, where both sides are expected to review progress on ongoing projects and explore new avenues of cooperation under broader economic frameworks.
As part of his schedule, Shehbaz Sharif will visit Tiananmen Square along with his delegation to pay homage at the Monument to the People’s Heroes, where he will lay a floral wreath in a gesture of respect.
In addition, the prime minister is scheduled to meet leading Chinese investors and chief executive officers of major Chinese companies, aiming to encourage further foreign direct investment in Pakistan and strengthen business-to-business linkages.
The visit also includes participation in a commemorative event marking the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China. Both sides are expected to reaffirm their commitment to deepening what has long been described as an “all-weather strategic partnership.”
Officials say the day’s engagements highlight the importance both countries place on political trust, economic collaboration, and regional stability, especially at a time of shifting global economic dynamics.
