National ( The cow news digital ) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has expressed interest in forming a coalition government in the province, stating that efforts are underway to build a broader political arrangement through consultation and dialogue among different parties.
Speaking to media representatives during a visit to Dera Ismail Khan, Kundi said that political engagement and meetings with various stakeholders remain a routine part of democratic processes. He emphasized that discussions with leaders across the political spectrum, including religious and regional figures, are ongoing in order to explore possible cooperation in provincial governance.
The governor claimed that the Pakistan Peoples Party has strengthened its position in Dera Ismail Khan, stating that the party now holds a significant presence in the region with a notable number of elected representatives. He added that local political dynamics are shifting, and parties are reassessing their strategies in light of evolving circumstances.
Referring to internal political developments within the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Kundi suggested that differences exist within the party regarding leadership and administrative decisions. He alleged that certain PTI members have shown interest in leadership changes within the provincial setup.
In his remarks, Kundi also criticized recent political narratives surrounding former provincial leadership, including Ali Amin Gandapur, stating that speculation about his return to active provincial leadership is unfounded. He remarked that political departures are often decisive, making a comeback unlikely in such situations.
Meanwhile, political observers note that the situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa remains fluid, with various parties exploring potential alliances and strategic adjustments. Leaders such as Sohail Afridi, the current Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, continue to maintain their positions amid ongoing political discourse, while opposition voices, including those from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, remain active in provincial matters.
Another senior political figure, Barrister Gohar, has also been engaged in discussions regarding party organization and governance issues, as the political landscape in the province continues to evolve.
