National ( The cow news digital ) Barrister Salman Safdar, the legal counsel for former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, has reportedly developed an eye-related medical condition, affecting his ability to actively pursue urgent legal proceedings.
According to court submissions, Salman Safdar has informed the relevant authorities that he is currently suffering from an eye ailment and requires medical examination abroad. Due to his health condition, he has expressed inability to continue immediate follow-up on multiple pending appeals, including urgent legal matters related to his client.
During court proceedings, senior lawyer Salman Akram Raja appeared on behalf of Salman Safdar and requested additional time from the court. He informed the bench that Safdar’s medical condition necessitates travel for specialized treatment and evaluation outside the country.
The legal team sought adjournment and procedural relief, stating that ongoing health concerns have temporarily limited the ability of counsel to effectively pursue certain appeals, including those related to the suspension of sentences and other constitutional petitions involving Imran Khan.
This development comes amid heightened political and legal activity surrounding PTI leadership, where multiple cases and hearings are currently underway in various courts. The legal team has been engaged in a series of petitions challenging judicial decisions and seeking relief in high-profile cases.
In a related development, Salman Akram Raja reiterated earlier concerns regarding the health and safety of Imran Khan and his spouse, stating that the PTI founder’s medical condition has been a matter of serious concern.
