National ( The cow news digital ) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has issued a one-week ultimatum to the federal government, warning of intensified political protest if demands regarding the treatment of former Prime Minister Imran Khan are not met.

Speaking to the media near Adiala Jail alongside family members of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, the chief minister announced the end of a protest sit-in but cautioned that further action could follow if the situation remains unresolved.

Afridi alleged that despite his visit as the province’s chief executive, he was not allowed to meet the PTI founder, nor were his family members, parliamentarians, or personal doctor granted access. He claimed that restrictions were imposed even during a high-profile political visit.

He further stated that concerns over Imran Khan’s health, particularly related to an eye condition, had intensified, and insisted that he should be transferred to a hospital for proper medical treatment under the supervision of his family and personal physician.

The chief minister demanded that the former prime minister be shifted to a medical facility without delay, arguing that continued restrictions on medical access were unacceptable. He said the provincial leadership would closely monitor the situation over the coming days.

Afridi warned that if the demands were not met by the coming Tuesday, the party would return with a stronger and more forceful protest strategy. He emphasized that the next phase of action would be more intense than the current demonstration.

The statement adds to ongoing political tensions between the provincial and federal governments, particularly over access, legal proceedings, and the treatment of detained political leaders.

Authorities have not yet issued an official response to the ultimatum.
