National ( The cow news digital ) Mardan, April 20, 2026 — A strong and emotionally charged political statement emerged from the recent rally in Mardan, where Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohaib Afridi addressed a large gathering and outlined his party’s future course of action regarding the situation of PTI founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi.
Speaking to supporters, Afridi said that protests would continue until Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi receive medical treatment under the supervision of their personal physicians and in the presence of their family members. He stressed that transparency and trust in medical care were essential and raised concerns over the current handling of their health conditions.
He further announced that the upcoming assembly session would not be held inside the provincial assembly building but instead would take place in an open ground, signaling a symbolic shift in political engagement and protest strategy.
During his address, Afridi also shared the party’s upcoming political schedule. He stated that on April 25, the PTI would observe its founding day, during which he would visit Kashmir as part of party activities. He added that another major public gathering is planned for May 1 in Lahore, which is expected to draw significant participation.
Afridi alleged that both Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi were shifted to a hospital due to eye-related health issues, but their family was not properly consulted or taken into confidence. He questioned the reasoning behind such decisions, suggesting that it could be an attempt to exert pressure on the party leadership.
He further claimed that these developments are part of a broader effort to force political submission, but strongly asserted that Imran Khan remains firm and unshaken. Referring to Khan, he said he is a “man of determination” who continues to stand his ground despite challenges.

In another emotional moment of his speech, Afridi stated that he had previously sent a message to Imran Khan expressing readiness for immediate political action. According to him, Khan responded by asking him to wait for further instructions while directing the party to organize a major rally within ten days in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Afridi concluded by stating that the massive turnout at the Mardan rally reflects public support for Imran Khan, emphasizing that the real strength of the movement lies in the former prime minister’s leadership and vision.
