ISLAMABAD: The birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ (Eid Milad-un-Nabi) is being celebrated across the country today with deep religious reverence, spiritual enthusiasm, and widespread devotion.
The day commenced following Fajr prayers with a 21-gun salute in Lahore and Peshawar, accompanied by special prayers for the progress, peace, and prosperity of Pakistan. Mosques, government buildings, public thoroughfares, and residential neighborhoods across major cities have been illuminated with vibrant lights and decorated with green flags and banners to mark the auspicious occasion.
In Karachi, major streets and intersections have been decorated with illuminations, decorative arches, and replicas of the Khana Kabeer and Masjid-e-Nabawi. Religious gatherings (Mahafil-e-Milad) and processions are being organized throughout the metropolis. The main procession in Karachi is scheduled to emerge from Shaheed Masjid Kharadar in the afternoon and will culminate at Gulzar-e-Habib Masjid by Asr prayers. In light of the public holiday, utility companies have temporarily suspended load-shedding across Karachi to facilitate the celebrations.
Similar processions, Naat recitations, and Seerat conferences are underway across Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, and Quetta. Scholars and religious speakers are highlighting the life, character, and timeless teachings of the Holy Prophet ﷺ, urging the nation to adopt his principles of peace, compassion, unity, and tolerance.
