National ( The cow news digital ) Pakistan’s military announced that security forces successfully intercepted and destroyed four drones allegedly launched from Afghanistan along the Balochistan border, describing the operation as a swift response to a cross-border security threat.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the drones entered Pakistani airspace on June 30 and were detected by the country’s integrated air defence network. According to the military, all four drones were tracked and neutralized before they could reach their intended targets.
The ISPR alleged that the drones originated from areas under the control of the Afghan Taliban administration and claimed they were deployed with the support of militant groups operating from across the border. The military did not provide further operational details but said the response reflected the preparedness and effectiveness of Pakistan’s modern air defence capabilities.
Officials stated that the successful interception demonstrated the armed forces’ ability to respond promptly to emerging aerial threats. The military emphasized that Pakistan’s defence systems remain fully operational and capable of safeguarding the country’s territorial integrity against any form of cross-border aggression.
The statement further accused the Afghan Taliban authorities of allowing militant groups to operate from Afghan territory, urging them to prevent the use of their soil for activities that threaten Pakistan’s security. It added that such actions undermine regional stability and increase tensions between the two neighbouring countries.
The ISPR warned that any continued provocations or hostile actions would receive a firm and decisive response. It stressed that Pakistan remains committed to defending every inch of its territory and will continue to act against any security threat in accordance with its operational protocols.
Relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan have remained strained in recent months due to repeated border security concerns and allegations regarding the presence of militant groups operating near the frontier. Islamabad has repeatedly called on the Afghan authorities to take effective measures against organizations accused of launching attacks from Afghan territory, while Kabul has previously rejected similar accusations.
Security analysts say incidents involving drones and cross-border militant activity have heightened concerns over stability in the region, making border security a top priority for Pakistani authorities. The latest development is expected to add further pressure on diplomatic engagement between the two countries as both sides face growing challenges in maintaining peace along the shared border.
No casualties or damage on the Pakistani side were reported following the interception, and authorities said security forces remain on high alert to respond to any future threats along the western frontier.
