Banned Joint Action Committee Leader Arrested in AJK

National ( The cow news digital ) Authorities in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) have arrested Shaukat Nawaz Mir, a central leader of the banned Joint Action Committee, along with one of his associates during a security operation in Muzaffarabad.

According to Muzaffarabad Deputy Commissioner Munir Qureshi, the arrests were carried out by police and security personnel in the Hattian Bala Tunnel area as part of an ongoing operation against members of the proscribed organization.

Officials confirmed that Shaukat Nawaz Mir and his associate were taken into custody without any reported resistance. They have since been transferred to an undisclosed location for further investigation.

The administration has not yet disclosed the specific charges against the two individuals or provided details regarding the circumstances that led to the operation. Authorities also have not announced whether additional arrests are expected in connection with the case.
