National ( The cow news digital ) Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi has declared that the current political system is entirely stable and the coalition government will complete its constitutional five-year tenure, with Shehbaz Sharif remaining Prime Minister for the full term.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Geo News, the interior minister addressed recent political speculation, assuring that the government faces no immediate threat of instability. During the interview, Naqvi revealed plans to advise the Prime Minister to conduct a third-party audit of all federal ministries. He emphasized that an independent evaluation would provide transparency, allowing the public to assess the performance and efficiency of each ministry.
Defending the administration’s performance, Naqvi highlighted Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s demanding schedule, stating that the premier works 14 to 16 hours daily to address national issues. He pointed to key milestones achieved by the current regime, particularly in foreign diplomacy and revenue collection through ongoing reforms at the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).
Addressing recent controversy over his previous remarks regarding state infrastructure, the interior minister clarified that his comments referred to a decayed, 80-year-old administrative system rather than a criticism of the sitting government. He dismissed reports of internal friction, asserting that political adversaries attempting to create a rift between him and the Prime Minister would not succeed.
Addressing personal criticism regarding his cabinet engagement, Naqvi noted that his attendance at federal cabinet meetings remains around 70 percent, reaffirming his active involvement in governmental affairs.
