National ( The cow news digital ) ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has issued a sharp critique of the country’s governance model, questioning the institutional training and political vision of top military leaders regarding national administration.
In a bold statement, Khan argued that the core issue lies in institutional training rather than individual generals, asserting that military institutions do not impart the training required for political governance. He pointed out that military systems lack institutional mechanisms for debate, critical reasoning (Ijtihad), and dissenting opinions. Quoting Winston Churchill, the PTI founder remarked that a general’s primary duty is limited to fighting wars, as they lack the capacity for complex political and administrative decision-making.
Khan elaborated that generals are trained to achieve specific operational targets—such as conquering a mountain peak—but handing them the responsibility of running a country inevitably leads to systemic failure. He urged the nation to stand firmly against such dominance to reclaim constitutional and democratic authority, warning that failure to break this monopoly could consign future generations to prolonged subjugation.
Reacting to the statement, PTI leader Sohail Afridi called on the nation to demonstrate unity and resilience in support of Khan’s stance on public and national rights. Afridi issued a stern warning, stating that if any harm were to come to Imran Khan, the nation would not see another leader of his courage for the next century, leaving coming generations trapped in servitude.
