Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) and Tehreek Tahaffuz-e-Aeen-e-Pakistan (TTAP) have agreed to form a united opposition front, starting with a coordinated strategy inside Parliament.
Speaking to the media alongside opposition leaders following a high-level consultative meeting, JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman formally announced the alliance. Sources revealed that a joint parliamentary party meeting of the opposition factions has been convened to finalize their legislative strategy, alongside further consultations with Fazlur Rehman.
During the meeting, participants also discussed the health and current status of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan. Addressing reporters, Maulana Fazlur Rehman noted that this was the initial formal sitting of the opposition leadership, with consensus reached to establish a unified front. Responding to queries regarding the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), he clarified that the PPP remains part of the ruling coalition, whereas current efforts focus strictly on unifying opposition benches, adding that discussions regarding an All Parties Conference (APC) remain on the table.
