KARACHI — The high-profile investigation into the tragic Mir Raza murder case has entered a critical new phase as the newly constituted investigative team officially dispatched four distinct letters to the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA). According to well-placed sources, the formal communications primarily request a comprehensive forensic analysis of the late victim’s smart watch alongside detailed disclosures regarding his private digital accounts and social media profiles.
As the probe intensifies, authorities have mapped out further administrative steps. Sources confirmed that the newly formed investigation team is scheduled to hold its second formal meeting at the Ferozabad Police Station. Following the session, the team plans to conduct an immediate, thorough re-inspection of the original crime scene to gather any overlooked digital or physical clues.
However, the investigation has drawn sharp scrutiny from the legal representation of the victim’s family. Prominent lawyer Jibran Nasir, representing the aggrieved family, voiced serious concerns during a media interaction. He revealed that Mir Raza’s smart watch had remained in the possession of the committee’s former head for several days before finally being handed over to the NCCIA.
Raising apprehensions about the integrity of the evidence, Nasir explicitly stated that the family strongly opposes having the smart watch forensically examined by the NCCIA. Instead, they are demanding that the device be sent directly to the Lahore Forensic Science Laboratory for independent evaluation. He cautioned that because the smart watch remained under the custody of the former committee head for an extended period, there is a strong possibility of digital tampering, which could potentially compromise the pursuit of justice.
The unfolding developments highlight mounting pressure on law enforcement agencies to ensure total transparency and credibility in handling sensitive digital evidence. As legal battles and forensic procedures collide, the quest for accountability in the Mir Raza murder case remains at the forefront of public and media attention across the country.
