ISLAMABAD – Former Federal Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry has delivered a sharp critique of the current leadership and protest strategy of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), asserting that the party is suffering from a severe leadership vacuum.
In a recent political statement, Chaudhry noted that the current PTI leadership is now supporting the concept of political dialogue, a move they previously opposed while championing slogans of resistance over negotiations. While agreeing that pursuing talks is the correct course of action, he emphasized that the decision has come far too late.
Highlighting the party’s fading street momentum, Chaudhry claimed that Aleema Khan issued protest calls on ten separate occasions, yet failed to gather even 80 individuals on the streets.
The former minister further revealed that he had directly advised PTI founder Imran Khan regarding the party’s fundamental identity and approach. Chaudhry stated that he reminded Khan that PTI is a mainstream political party whose role is to navigate political solutions, rather than adopting extreme measures akin to taking up arms and taking to the mountains.
