National ( The cow news digital ) Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced plans to resume nationwide street protests demanding the immediate release of party founder Imran Khan. The party confirmed that a mass power show will be hosted on August 5 at the Imran Khan Cricket Stadium in Peshawar, alongside countrywide rallies.
The decision was finalized during a high-level consultative meeting at the Chief Minister’s House in Peshawar, attended by PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, Central General Secretary Salman Akram Raja, and senior leader Asad Qaisar. Addressing the media after the meeting, Barrister Gohar stated that the single-point agenda of the huddle was formulating a strategy for Khan’s freedom.
“Our founder chairman has been unjustly incarcerated. We have exhausted every legal and constitutional avenue. Peaceful protest remains our fundamental democratic right,” Barrister Gohar emphasized.
Gohar strongly criticized the dismissal of legal petitions regarding the events of late November, warning that shutting the doors of justice leads to societal collapse. Meanwhile, Provincial Information Minister Shafi Jan highlighted that August 5 marks three years since Khan’s detention, alleging that basic prisoner rights and human liberties are being consistently denied to the former prime minister.
Chief Minister Sohail Afridi is slated to unveil the party’s comprehensive future course of action during the August 5 Peshawar gathering, as PTI seeks to rally public support across all provinces.
