Islamabad (The COW News Digital)Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has strongly rejected allegations made during a recent press conference by the Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR), dismissing claims that party chairman Imran Khan poses a threat to the state. In an official statement, PTI described these assertions as a politically motivated narrative that misrepresents national realities.

The party emphasized that targeting a single individual cannot alter the political landscape of the country. PTI stated that Imran Khan has consistently maintained that a strong military ensures a strong Pakistan, and that differences in opinion should not be misconstrued as hostility. The party warned that conflating political dissent with national security risks undermining democratic values.

PTI criticized what it called the “interference of institutions in political discourse,” saying that aggressive rhetoric against elected leaders exacerbates tensions and disrupts the balance between state institutions. The statement stressed the importance of reminding the government and institutions about constitutional limits.

Highlighting current national challenges, PTI pointed to terrorism and economic crises as priorities requiring attention, not political vendettas. The party also condemned the silence of certain political families during past Indian aggression, contrasting it with Imran Khan’s active support for the armed forces even while imprisoned.

The statement defended media appearances of Imran Khan’s family, criticizing double standards when compared with past actions of rival political figures, and reaffirmed Khan’s role in defending Pakistan’s international standing. PTI reiterated its historical commitment to the Kashmir cause at global forums and underscored that labeling political opposition as “enemy narratives” closes democratic avenues.

Regarding economic and electoral issues, PTI argued that discussions around IMF negotiations, remittances, and alleged electoral irregularities are political matters. The party warned that portraying every political comment as a security threat constitutes political retribution.

PTI further emphasized that the ultimate source of power in Pakistan lies with the people, citing the February 8 elections, where Imran Khan received a clear public mandate. The party criticized the subsequent alleged tampering of this mandate through Form 47 and highlighted that international institutions have also noted these discrepancies.

Finally, PTI called for respect for the people’s mandate, free and fair elections, and full adherence to the Constitution as the only path to national stability. The party warned that until citizens’ decisions are respected, political crises cannot be resolved.
