Deha ( The COW News Digital )Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani has strongly condemned the Israeli strike on Hamas leaders in Doha, calling it a violation of Qatar’s sovereignty and security. Speaking at an emergency session of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), the Qatari premier stressed that Doha would not tolerate any breach of its independence or safety.

“The Israeli attack exposes Tel Aviv’s true intentions and disregard for peace efforts,” Sheikh Mohammed stated. “At the time of the strike, we were engaged in mediation efforts aimed at securing the release of hostages and de-escalating tensions. Israel’s actions have undermined these peace initiatives and endangered innocent lives.”

The prime minister reiterated Qatar’s commitment to playing a humanitarian and diplomatic role to stop the ongoing bloodshed. He called on the international community to hold Israel accountable and to prioritize de-escalation for the sake of regional stability.

Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Asim Iftikhar, also addressed the UNSC session, condemning the attack in the strongest terms. He asserted that the assault on Doha is not just an attack on Qatar’s security but a direct threat to international peace.

“Pakistan stands in solidarity with the people and government of Qatar,” Iftikhar said, urging the UN to ensure accountability for violations of international law.

In a show of support, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited Doha and met with the Emir of Qatar. Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s backing for Qatar’s mediatory efforts and stressed that Israel’s actions constitute a breach of global norms and international law.

Earlier, the UNSC unanimously adopted a statement condemning the attacks on Doha, with all 15 members, including the United States, underscoring the urgent need to reduce tensions in the region.

Analysts say the strike could worsen the already fragile situation in the Middle East and complicate ongoing mediation efforts aimed at resolving the Gaza crisis. Qatar has long positioned itself as a key mediator in regional conflicts, and officials warn that undermining its diplomatic role risks escalating violence further.

With growing international pressure, observers will be closely watching Israel’s response and the future of Qatar’s mediation efforts, which many consider crucial for peace in the region.
