Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, accompanied by federal ministers, will undertake a one-day visit to Quetta today, according to official sources.
During his visit, the Prime Minister will chair a high-level security meeting, where he will be briefed on the law and order situation in Balochistan, the terrorist attack on the Jaffer Express in Bolan, and the subsequent rescue operation. The meeting is expected to result in key decisions regarding peace and security in the province.
Meanwhile, DG ISPR Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif confirmed that all hostages from Jaffer Express had been safely rescued, and all 33 terrorists were eliminated.
Speaking to a private news channel, Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif stated that on March 11, terrorists targeted a railway track in Bolan, forcing Jaffer Express to stop. Railway authorities reported that 440 passengers were on board.
He added that while the clearance operation ensured no harm to any hostages, 21 passengers and four Frontier Corps (FC) personnel were martyred. Among the four fallen FC soldiers, three were killed in a terrorist ambush on a nearby outpost before the operation, while one soldier was martyred during the rescue mission.
