Kyiv( The COW News Digital)Ukraine has claimed responsibility for a series of drone strikes targeting Russian oil installations, a key military airfield, and an electronics factory deep inside Russian territory. The attacks, if confirmed, mark another escalation in Kyiv’s long-range drone campaign aimed at crippling Moscow’s military and industrial infrastructure.
According to a statement posted on Telegram by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, multiple high-value targets were struck across different regions of Russia. Among the primary targets was a major oil refinery located in Ryazan, approximately 180 kilometers southeast of Moscow. The attack reportedly caused fires in surrounding areas, though exact damage details remain undisclosed.
Ukraine also claimed to have hit the Enaneftproduct oil facility in the Voronezh region, near the border with northeastern Ukraine. The facility was described as a critical fuel supply point for Russian military logistics.
In addition to energy infrastructure, Ukrainian forces stated they had struck a drone warfare manufacturing plant and an electronics factory in Russia’s Penza region. The electronics plant allegedly supplied components for the Russian defense industrial complex.
Ukraine’s military intelligence services also reported a successful drone attack on the Primorsko-Akhtarsk military airfield, a key launch site for long-range Russian drone strikes on Ukrainian territory.
While Russia has not officially responded to the claims or confirmed the extent of the damage, its Defense Ministry earlier released a routine daily report noting that 338 Ukrainian drones were shot down overnight. The ministry did not specify how many drones were launched or whether any managed to penetrate Russian airspace and cause damage.
Ukraine’s Air Force separately reported that it intercepted 45 out of 53 Russian drones launched overnight, as cross-border drone warfare continues to dominate the battlefield in recent weeks.
These new attacks reflect Kyiv’s growing reliance on long-range drones to offset its disadvantage in conventional firepower, especially as frontline combat remains intense in regions like Donetsk. Moscow recently claimed to have taken control of the village of Oleksandro-Kalynove in eastern Ukraine, adding further pressure to Ukrainian defensive lines.
As both sides continue to deploy drones with increasing frequency and sophistication, analysts warn of further escalation, particularly involving civilian and energy infrastructure across both nations.
