World ( The cow news digital ) Bangladesh secured a commanding 104-run victory over Pakistan in the Dhaka Test after a dominant all-round performance on the final day of the match played in Mirpur.
Chasing a challenging target of 268 runs in the fourth innings, Pakistan’s batting lineup collapsed for just 163 runs, handing the hosts a comprehensive win. The defeat highlighted Pakistan’s inconsistent batting performance under pressure, as only debutant Abdullah Fazal showed resistance with a composed 66-run innings.
Despite his effort, Pakistan failed to build partnerships, with regular wickets falling at crucial intervals. Salman Ali Agha contributed 26 runs, while Mohammad Rizwan, Saud Shakeel, and Azan Awais each added 15 runs. Noman Ali managed only 4 runs, whereas Imam-ul-Haq and captain Shan Masood were dismissed cheaply for 2 runs each. Hasan Ali scored 1 run, and Shaheen Shah Afridi was dismissed without opening his account.
Bangladesh’s bowling attack remained disciplined and effective throughout the innings. Nahid Rana led the charge with a five-wicket haul, dismantling Pakistan’s middle and lower order. Taijul Islam and Taskin Ahmed supported the attack with two wickets each, while Mehidy Hasan Miraz claimed one wicket to complete the collapse.
Earlier in the match, Bangladesh posted a strong first-innings total of 413 runs after Pakistan opted to bowl first upon winning the toss. In response, Pakistan managed 386 runs in their first innings, keeping the contest competitive at that stage.
However, Bangladesh strengthened their position in the second innings, declaring at 240 for 9 to set a target of 268 runs. Their decision proved decisive as Pakistan’s batting lineup faltered once again on a deteriorating pitch in Mirpur.
The result marks a significant setback for Pakistan in the Test series, raising concerns over batting consistency and middle-order reliability in challenging overseas conditions.
