Beijing(The COW News Digital) China has called on the international community to cooperate in achieving a sustainable and effective resolution to the ongoing conflict in Sudan, stressing the urgency of preventing further human suffering.

According to reports, China emphasized the importance of upholding a five-point consensus designed to stabilize Sudan and support its people. The call was made by China’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Fu Cong, during a briefing at the UN Security Council.

Ambassador Fu highlighted that the international community must work together to prevent the conflict from escalating further. “Additional loss of life is unacceptable,” he said, urging nations to respect Sudan’s sovereignty while assisting in efforts to bring about peace.

The five-point consensus outlined by China focuses on: achieving a prompt ceasefire, mitigating the ongoing humanitarian crisis, strengthening mediation efforts, respecting Sudanese ownership of solutions, and integrating development with security to ensure long-term stability.

Fu Cong emphasized that all parties involved in the conflict should prioritize Sudan’s national interests and the well-being of its citizens. He called for an immediate and verifiable ceasefire, cessation of military assistance from external powers, and restraint from actions that could exacerbate the crisis. “External actors should avoid fueling the conflict or exploiting the situation for their own gains,” he said.

China’s appeal reflects concerns over the potential humanitarian disaster in Sudan as violence continues to affect civilians across the country. Analysts note that coordinated international support is critical to halting the escalation and laying the groundwork for meaningful political dialogue.

Beijing has previously positioned itself as a key mediator in African conflicts, advocating for solutions that respect national sovereignty while promoting sustainable peace. China’s latest statements reinforce its commitment to multilateral diplomacy and highlight the need for global collaboration to manage complex crises.

The international community faces mounting pressure to respond effectively, as protracted fighting has led to displacement, casualties, and growing instability. Diplomats stress that immediate steps to prevent further bloodshed are essential, alongside measures to support Sudan’s long-term reconstruction and development.

As the situation evolves, UN agencies and humanitarian organizations continue to provide aid to affected communities, emphasizing the importance of ceasefires and safe access for relief operations. China’s call for cooperation serves as a reminder that coordinated global action remains pivotal in addressing the Sudan crisis.
