According to a statement from the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held a telephone conversation with Afghanistan’s acting foreign minister Amir Khan Muttaqi to discuss the evolving situation between the two neighboring countries.
During the discussion, Wang Yi highlighted China’s concern over the rising tensions and urged both sides to exercise restraint.
