World ( The cow news digital ) Tensions in the Middle East escalated sharply after Iran warned that hotels accommodating United States military personnel could be treated as legitimate military targets. The statement reflects a widening scope of potential conflict zones amid rising hostilities involving Iran, the United States, and Israel.
Brigadier General Abolfazl Shekarchi, spokesperson for Iran’s armed forces, said in a televised interview that any facility housing American troops would be considered a U.S. military installation. He stressed that Iran would not remain passive if its interests or territory were threatened, adding that Tehran reserves the right to respond wherever U.S. forces are present.
The warning comes at a time of heightened regional instability, with diplomatic and military tensions intensifying across the Gulf. Iranian officials have accused U.S. forces of dispersing into civilian areas, including hotels and office buildings, in countries belonging to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). According to Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, such actions risk turning civilian infrastructure into potential conflict zones.
In a statement posted on social media platform X, Araghchi urged hotels across the region not to provide accommodation to American military personnel. He alleged that U.S. forces were using civilian settings as cover, a move he described as placing local populations at risk.
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) also issued a public advisory warning civilians to avoid areas where American troops are stationed. The IRGC emphasized that individuals in proximity to such locations could face serious danger if hostilities escalate further.
In a separate development, the IRGC announced restrictions on maritime routes associated with countries supporting the United States and Israel. Iranian state-affiliated media reported that the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global shipping route, had effectively been closed under heightened security measures.
According to reports, several container vessels attempting to enter the strategic waterway were turned back following warnings from Iranian naval forces. The move has raised concerns over global energy supplies and international trade, as the Strait of Hormuz is a key passage for oil shipments.
The situation continues to evolve rapidly, with international observers closely monitoring developments amid fears of a broader regional conflict.
