Ghaza( The COW News Digital)The besieged Gaza Strip was once again engulfed in bloodshed on Tuesday, as intensified Israeli airstrikes killed at least 46 Palestinians, including six people who had been waiting for humanitarian aid. Dozens more were wounded and rushed to overwhelmed hospitals.
According to the Gaza Ministry of Health, the bombardment began early Monday and continued into the following day, targeting residential neighborhoods and areas where civilians had gathered in search of food and supplies. Among the dead were women, children, and the elderly.
One of the most devastating incidents occurred in the Zeitoun neighborhood, on the outskirts of Gaza City, where an Israeli airstrike obliterated a home, wiping out an entire family. The victims included a mother, father, and their six young children. Rescue workers described harrowing scenes as they pulled bodies from the rubble.
In central Gaza, the Al-Aqsa Hospital reported that Israeli forces carried out attacks in the southern and eastern parts of Deir al-Balah, killing four more Palestinians. Meanwhile, the Palestinian Red Crescent confirmed that another strike in southern Gaza claimed the lives of three civilians and left several others injured.
The escalation comes amid an already dire humanitarian crisis in Gaza, where widespread famine and severe food shortages have pushed residents to the brink of survival. The Ministry of Health revealed that hunger-related deaths continue to rise, with 217 people—including more than 100 children—having died due to starvation and malnutrition since the siege began.
Human rights organizations have repeatedly warned that the situation bears the hallmarks of systematic ethnic cleansing. They argue that the deliberate targeting of civilian areas, combined with the blockade on essential supplies, constitutes a clear violation of international law.
“This is not just a war—it’s an engineered catastrophe,” said a spokesperson for a leading humanitarian group. “Families are being starved, bombed, and erased from the map while the world watches.”
International calls for a ceasefire have so far gone unheeded, and the death toll continues to mount. Hospitals in Gaza, already crippled by shortages of medicine and electricity, are struggling to cope with the influx of casualties.
As night falls over Gaza, the fear among residents deepens, with many bracing for further attacks. For countless families, the only certainty is uncertainty—and the knowledge that the next strike could be their last.
