National ( The cow news digital ) Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif has said that Afghanistan is allegedly acting as a “proxy of Hindutva ideology,” adding that there is no difference between Delhi and Kabul in the current regional security context.
Speaking during a session of the National Assembly, Khawaja Asif stated that Pakistan prefers resolving security challenges through dialogue and diplomacy, particularly in efforts to curb cross-border terrorism. However, he warned that if Afghanistan does not cooperate, consequences similar to those faced elsewhere in the region could follow.
The minister said Pakistan is currently facing security pressures on both its eastern and western borders, describing the situation as a shared challenge involving a common adversary. He also claimed that the Afghan authorities are not providing assurances to Pakistan regarding the prevention of militant activity originating from their territory.
Khawaja Asif further stated that Pakistan has made multiple diplomatic efforts to engage Afghanistan on security concerns, emphasizing that regional partners including Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey have also supported dialogue efforts aimed at stabilizing the situation.
He highlighted that these countries have played a mediating role in encouraging negotiations and reducing tensions between Islamabad and Kabul.
The remarks reflect ongoing strain in Pakistan-Afghanistan relations, particularly over issues of militancy and border security. Islamabad has repeatedly accused elements operating from Afghan soil of involvement in attacks inside Pakistan, while Kabul has often rejected such claims and called for mutual respect of sovereignty.
The situation remains a key regional security concern, with diplomatic engagement continuing alongside rising political rhetoric on both sides.
