Pakistan Urges Dialogue for Resolving Global Conflicts

Islamabad(The COW News Digital)Pakistan has reiterated its firm commitment to resolving international disputes through dialogue and diplomacy, emphasizing that military solutions only deepen global instability. Speaking at the United Nations, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative, Asim Iftikhar, stressed that peaceful negotiation remains the most viable and responsible path forward, especially in regions gripped by prolonged conflict.

Addressing the UN forum, Ambassador Iftikhar expressed Pakistan’s concerns over the humanitarian and geopolitical fallout of the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war. He noted that the conflict continues to cast “deep and far-reaching effects” on the region and beyond, creating severe hardships for civilians and damaging critical infrastructure. He called for strict adherence to international humanitarian law, urging all involved parties to ensure the protection of non-combatants and essential services.

The Pakistani envoy underscored that Islamabad strongly believes the Russia-Ukraine conflict cannot be settled through military means. “There is no military solution to this dispute,” he stated, urging both sides to take meaningful steps toward de-escalation. Pakistan, he added, supports all diplomatic initiatives aimed at paving the way for sustained dialogue, reduction in hostilities, and a long-term peace framework.

His comments come amid evolving reports emerging from U.S. media suggesting that the Trump administration has been quietly shaping a new peace initiative for Ukraine. Earlier reports claimed that Washington, in consultation with Moscow, was developing a plan to end the conflict, led by U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff. Subsequent reports have suggested that President Donald Trump has already granted silent approval to a peace framework expected to be floated in the coming days.

According to these reports, the proposed roadmap includes 28 key points aimed at restoring stability, ensuring security guarantees within Ukraine, and redefining future relations among the United States, Russia, and Ukraine. The plan reportedly also includes broader considerations for European security architecture and long-term strategic balance on the continent.

While Pakistan has not commented directly on the proposed U.S. initiative, its position at the UN reinforces Islamabad’s long-standing foreign policy principle: conflicts must be resolved through meaningful engagement, mutual respect, and adherence to international law. As global tensions rise and geopolitical realignments deepen, Pakistan’s renewed call for diplomacy highlights the urgency of prioritizing peaceful solutions in an increasingly polarized world.
