World ( The cow news digital ) Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has credited US President Donald Trump for playing a decisive role in securing a ceasefire between Pakistan and India last year, saying the American leader will be remembered as a proponent of peace.

The prime minister made these remarks while addressing a ceremony organized by the US Mission in Pakistan to commemorate the 250th anniversary of American independence. The event celebrated the principles of freedom, dignity, and self-determination that underpin the United States’ history.

Extending congratulations on behalf of the government and people of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif described America’s journey as a story of hope and progress. He noted that relations between Pakistan and the United States span more than eight decades and have included cooperation in counterterrorism, trade, investment, and education.

According to him, nearly one million Pakistanis consider America their second home, contributing significantly to various sectors of the US economy.

Referring to last year’s tensions with India, Shehbaz Sharif said that India had launched an attack on Pakistan, creating a dangerous regional situation. “President Trump will always be remembered as an advocate of peace,” the prime minister said, emphasizing the importance of dialogue and diplomacy in resolving conflicts.

Shehbaz Sharif further noted that Pakistan is playing a sincere mediatory role between the United States and Iran, expressing gratitude to both sides for their trust. He also praised Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for his efforts in promoting regional peace and stability, saying the military leadership continues to support diplomatic initiatives aimed at reducing tensions.

The prime minister reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to constructive engagement and regional harmony, underscoring that sustainable peace can only be achieved through dialogue and mutual respect.

The ceremony concluded with renewed expressions of goodwill between Islamabad and Washington, as both countries reaffirmed their shared interest in strengthening bilateral ties and promoting stability in the region.
