Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said that Russian representatives have no intention of attending the inaugural session of the newly formed body. He added that the agenda and overall framework of the initiative remain under review by Russia’s Foreign Ministry.
Speaking to reporters in Moscow, Peskov explained that the matter is currently being examined at the diplomatic level. “The topic and objectives of the Board are being carefully studied by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs,” he said, indicating that no final assessment has yet been made public.
The Board of Peace initiative was formally introduced on January 22 during the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos. Representatives from 19 countries signed the charter establishing the board, signaling their support for a multilateral platform aimed at addressing global conflicts and promoting dialogue.
Although details regarding the board’s specific mandate and structure have not been fully disclosed, organizers have described it as a forum intended to foster diplomatic engagement and conflict resolution efforts at the international level.
