World ( The cow news digital ) US President Donald Trump has said that indirect negotiations between the United States and Iran are progressing through Pakistani diplomatic channels, adding that a potential agreement could be reached soon.
In an interview with the Financial Times, Trump stated that discussions involving Iranian and US representatives are moving forward and that Pakistan is playing a facilitating role in the backchannel diplomacy.
He claimed that the United States could take control of Iranian oil resources and even suggested the possibility of seizing strategic locations such as Kharg Island, a key Iranian oil export hub.
Trump also said that Iran has allowed several Pakistani-flagged vessels to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, adding that the number of ships passing through the waterway has increased to around 20.
He further claimed that Iranian Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf had authorized the passage of these vessels, though no independent confirmation of this statement has been provided.

The remarks come amid ongoing tensions in the region and unverified reports of diplomatic engagement involving multiple intermediaries. The White House has not issued an official statement confirming the claims made in the interview.
Analysts note that while indirect negotiations between rival states often involve third-party mediators, such high-level assertions—especially involving strategic assets like oil facilities—tend to escalate geopolitical sensitivities.
Further updates are expected as diplomatic developments continue to unfold.
