World ( The cow news digital ) US President Donald Trump has said that progress is being made in Iran–US negotiations through Pakistan, while also suggesting the possibility of taking control of Iranian oil resources, according to remarks reported by media.
Speaking to journalists aboard Air Force One, Donald Trump stated that a deal with Iran could be reached soon. He said that both direct and indirect communication channels with Tehran are currently active and that discussions are moving forward.
Trump claimed that Pakistan is playing a mediating role in facilitating talks between the United States and Iran, contributing to diplomatic progress. He further suggested that the situation in the region is evolving rapidly and could lead to an agreement in the near future.
In additional comments reported by the Financial Times, Trump said the United States has already carried out extensive strikes on targets in Iran, claiming that thousands of targets had been hit while a smaller number remain.
He controversially stated that one of his preferred options would be taking control of Iranian oil exports, specifically referencing the strategic Kharg Island oil terminal as a potential point of interest.
Trump also made remarks about political changes in Iran, suggesting that successive leadership structures had been weakened or replaced, and described the current situation as involving a different governing group than before.
His statements come amid heightened tensions in the region and ongoing speculation about future US strategy toward Iran. However, no official confirmation has been issued regarding any such military or territorial plans.
Analysts note that such remarks, if accurately reported, could further intensify geopolitical concerns and draw strong reactions from regional and international stakeholders.
The White House has not released an official statement confirming the claims made during the conversation.
