Abu Dhabi(The COW News Digital)The United Arab Emirates is set to hold a nationwide military air parade today, featuring fighter jets and helicopters flying across the country in a show of unity and remembrance. The aerial display is being organized to commemorate the missile attack carried out by Yemen’s Houthi group against the UAE four years ago.

According to Emirati authorities, the air parade will include a coordinated flight of warplanes and military helicopters, which will pass over all seven emirates. The event is intended to honor the victims of the 2022 attack and reaffirm national solidarity and resilience in the face of security threats.

Dubai Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defense Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has called on citizens and residents to participate symbolically in the commemoration. In a public message, he urged people to stand in unity at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday as the UAE national anthem is played across the country.

The aerial march is being held in memory of the missile attack in which the Houthis targeted the UAE, marking one of the most serious security incidents in the country’s recent history. The strike resulted in the deaths of three people, including a Pakistani worker, Mamoor Khan, whose death was widely mourned in both the UAE and Pakistan.

Officials said the parade will begin in Abu Dhabi and continue across all emirates, allowing residents nationwide to witness the display. The coordinated operation highlights the UAE Armed Forces’ operational readiness and aerial capabilities, while also serving as a tribute to those who lost their lives in the attack.

Security analysts say the event carries both symbolic and strategic significance. Beyond remembrance, the air parade sends a message of deterrence and national unity at a time when regional tensions remain high. The UAE has repeatedly emphasized its commitment to safeguarding its territory and protecting civilians against external threats.

Residents have been advised to expect increased aircraft activity during the parade and to follow official instructions. Authorities have reassured the public that the flights are part of a planned military exercise and pose no safety risk.

The UAE has previously held similar commemorative events, but today’s nationwide aerial march is one of the most extensive to date. It reflects the country’s emphasis on honoring sacrifice, strengthening national identity, and demonstrating solidarity across all segments of society.
