Washington(The COW News Digital)The United States has approved the sale of equipment and support systems for Saudi Arabia’s F-15 fighter jet fleet in a deal valued at approximately $3 billion, according to the US Department of Defense.
In an official statement, the Pentagon confirmed that the agreement includes the supply of aircraft components, logistical support, and maintenance-related equipment intended to enhance the operational readiness of the Royal Saudi Air Force’s F-15 aircraft. The approval marks another significant step in ongoing defense cooperation between Washington and Riyadh.
Pentagon officials stated that, as part of the agreement, a limited number of American civilian contractors or US military personnel may be deployed to Saudi Arabia on a long-term basis. Their role would primarily involve technical assistance, training, and support to ensure the effective use and maintenance of the equipment.

The deal comes at a time when Saudi Arabia continues to modernize its air force amid evolving security challenges in the region. The F-15 remains one of the backbone aircraft of the Saudi air fleet and is considered critical for air defense and deterrence missions.
This approval follows another major US arms sale to Saudi Arabia announced just three days earlier. Washington had authorized the sale of Patriot missile systems and related equipment worth nearly $9 billion, further underlining the scale of defense ties between the two countries.
US officials have repeatedly said that arms sales to Saudi Arabia are aimed at bolstering defensive capabilities and ensuring stability in the Gulf region.
