LAHORE ( The COW News Digital) After just a day in hiding, the leadership of Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP), including Amir Saad Rizvi and his brother Ans Rizvi, have been located by police, who say their arrest is imminent. The duo went missing during violent protests in Mureedke, prompting an immediate mobilization by law enforcement agencies.

Police sources revealed that the leaders’ hideout was identified through a combination of intelligence inputs and technical tracking, limiting any further avenues for escape. Authorities have urged Saad and Ans Rizvi to surrender peacefully, assuring that any injuries sustained will be treated by the state. However, their current condition has not been independently confirmed.

“Law enforcement maintains full alert and is ready for action,” a senior police official said. “While the operation will remain within legal bounds, the apprehension of the leaders is certain. Any assistance to them will result in strict legal consequences.”

The Mureedke protests on the night of October 12–13 escalated into violent clashes, with TLP activists reportedly incited by their leadership to attack police personnel and public property. The rioters employed petrol bombs, stones, spiked sticks, and even hijacked vehicles, turning the demonstration into a significant law and order challenge.

According to initial reports, one police officer was killed and 48 others injured, including 17 from gunshot wounds. Multiple public and private vehicles were torched, shops vandalized, and roughly 30 civilians sustained injuries. Post-mortem and preliminary investigations suggest that the firearms used in the clashes belonged to weapons seized by rioters during the protests.

The police emphasized that the TLP’s organized violence was premeditated, combining mob incitement with strategic attacks on officers and property. Authorities also highlighted that state negotiations initially attempted to relocate the protest to a less disruptive area, but the leadership continued to incite violence.

Police officials reiterated that the government has kept the door open for voluntary surrender, stressing that the choice between compliance and resistance rests with Saad and Ans Rizvi. “This is a national moment of reflection,” one officer said, “and the state will uphold its duty to protect innocent lives and maintain law and order while pursuing accountability.”

As the manhunt continues, law enforcement agencies remain vigilant across the region to prevent further escalation, with ongoing search operations to locate other protest leaders and participants.
