According to Arab media reports, the blast occurred at the Barzan Gas Supply facility, one of the key LNG production sites in Qatar. The incident took place while the plant was in the process of resuming operations following a temporary shutdown linked to regional tensions, including disruptions caused by the Iran conflict.
Qatari authorities stated that the explosion was triggered by a technical fault, which quickly escalated into a massive fire. The blaze spread rapidly through parts of the facility, prompting an immediate emergency response.
