Peshawar( The COW News Digital)Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohaib Afridi has strongly criticized the federal government and the military’s media wing, claiming that a press conference by the Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) and statements by federal ministers were aimed at discrediting him. Afridi described the remarks as “vulgar and baseless,” asserting that such tactics would not intimidate him.

Speaking at a large public gathering in Karak, the Chief Minister said, “DG ISPR came to Peshawar and held a press conference against me, while federal ministers hurled disgusting and cheap accusations. I responded to them in a civilized manner.”

Afridi accused his political opponents of trying to sabotage his efforts and damage his image. “They will try to make me fail, but my nerves are strong. We are brave and fearless,” he declared, adding that his focus remained on delivering good governance and development in the province.

He further stated that his government was committed to bringing peace and stability to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, promising to modernize the police force with advanced weapons, bulletproof vehicles, and improved intelligence systems. “We will ensure good governance and soon announce development packages for all four regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,” he said.

Referring to his political journey, Afridi said that despite criticism, he stood firm on his principles and the vision of the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan. “When the PTI founder mentioned my name, some objected. But the time has come to change history,” he said.

Afridi emphasized that his government would follow Imran Khan’s anti-corruption vision, maintaining zero tolerance for graft. He warned government officials that they were “servants of the public,” not masters. “No roads will be closed for my protocol. We are here to serve, not to rule,” he added.

The Chief Minister also vowed to invest in education and youth leadership, announcing scholarships for students in Karak. “The ISF (Insaf Student Federation) is the future leadership of PTI and Pakistan,” he remarked.

Afridi, 36, concluded his address with a message of defiance and determination: “We will deliver where others failed. Our opponents bought flats abroad — we will build the future here. No one can stop us.”
