PRISTINA — In a chaotic session of the Kosovo parliament, an opposition lawmaker physically targeted acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti by hurling eggs at him during a heated political dispute.
According to foreign media reports, opposition member of parliament Time Kadrijaj, representing the Alliance party, threw four eggs directly toward Kurti while shouting “shame” in protest. The dramatic protest erupted amidst ongoing political gridlock following the national elections held in June, after which the parliament has repeatedly failed to elect a speaker.
The acting Prime Minister had requested additional time to finalize the selection of the parliamentary speaker. However, opposition parties strongly opposed the delay, arguing that the constitutional court’s official deadline had already expired, rendering the parliamentary session unconstitutional.
