Washington(The COW News Digital)Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai has announced an emergency fund of $300,000 to support girls’ education in conflict-affected regions, including Gaza, Sudan, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. The aid aims to help girls continue their education despite the severe challenges posed by war and instability.
According to reports, the $300,000 fund will be distributed equally, with $100,000 allocated to Gaza, $100,000 to Sudan, and $100,000 to Congo. The initiative highlights Malala’s ongoing commitment to education as a fundamental right for girls, even in the most difficult circumstances.
Speaking about the initiative, Malala expressed solidarity with girls living in these conflict zones, acknowledging the daily hardships they face. She emphasized that education is not only a pathway to personal growth but also a tool for building stronger, more resilient communities in regions affected by violence.

Malala also urged governments to prioritize the right to education for all children, international organizations to enforce global laws against wartime violations, and the public to support NGOs working to secure the futures of children. “Every child deserves the chance to learn, dream, and contribute to their society, regardless of where they are born,” she said.
The initiative is part of Malala’s broader advocacy for girls’ education worldwide, which includes providing resources, raising awareness, and holding governments accountable for ensuring safe learning environments. Her work has consistently highlighted how conflict disproportionately affects girls’ access to education, putting them at greater risk of early marriage, child labor, and other social injustices.
Education experts have praised the fund, noting that even small emergency grants can have a significant impact in regions where schools are underfunded, damaged, or unsafe. The funding will go toward school supplies, tuition, teacher training, and safe learning spaces for girls.
By focusing on Gaza, Sudan, and Congo, Malala is drawing attention to areas where political instability and conflict severely limit educational opportunities for children, particularly girls. Her effort underscores the importance of international solidarity and immediate humanitarian support in mitigating the long-term consequences of war on education.
