Moscow(The COW News Digital)Russian forces have claimed the capture of another populated area in Ukraine, reporting significant Ukrainian military losses over the past 24 hours as part of what Moscow describes as its ongoing “special military operation.”
According to a statement issued by the Russian Ministry of Defense, Russian troops secured control of the settlement of Komarovka, a populated center in Ukraine’s Sumy region. The ministry claimed that Ukrainian forces suffered heavy casualties during fighting across multiple fronts, with a total of 1,310 Ukrainian soldiers reported killed in the last day alone.
The statement detailed losses allegedly inflicted by various Russian battle groups operating in different sectors. In the area of responsibility of the Russian “North” battle group, Ukrainian forces reportedly lost around 190 soldiers along with two armored vehicles. Meanwhile, in the western sector, Russian forces claimed that approximately 200 Ukrainian troops were killed and three armored combat vehicles destroyed.
Further south, the Russian military reported the elimination of about 125 Ukrainian soldiers and the destruction of six armored vehicles. In the central sector, described as one of the most intense areas of fighting, Russian officials said Ukrainian forces lost around 440 personnel, along with two tanks and an infantry fighting vehicle during the past 24 hours.

In the eastern direction, the Russian Defense Ministry stated that more than 300 Ukrainian troops were killed, while one armored personnel carrier and seven armored combat vehicles were destroyed during clashes with Russian units.
Separately, the ministry said that the Russian “North” battle group alone killed 190 Ukrainian soldiers in its area of operations and destroyed additional armored equipment during targeted strikes.
The Russian Defense Ministry also released updated figures summarizing what it claims are cumulative Ukrainian losses since the beginning of the conflict. According to the statement, Russian forces have destroyed 670 combat aircraft, 283 helicopters, more than 108,900 drones, over 27,100 tanks and other armored vehicles, 32,500 field artillery units, and more than 51,700 specialized military vehicles.
Russian officials said the latest developments form part of sustained operations along multiple front lines, aimed at weakening Ukrainian military capabilities, disrupting logistics, and consolidating control over strategic areas. The ministry added that operations are continuing with the stated goal of ensuring security in areas brought under Russian control.
Ukraine has not immediately commented on the latest claims, and independent verification of battlefield reports remains difficult amid ongoing hostilities.
