In an interview with Al Arabiya, Ali Shamkhani, senior advisor to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, emphasized that the missile program falls outside the scope of any potential negotiations. “There is no room for discussion regarding Iran’s missile capabilities,” Shamkhani said. “Any proposals or pressures on this matter are unacceptable and will not be entertained.”

Shamkhani added that Iran’s military forces are on high alert and ready to respond decisively to any hostile actions. “Any military operation against Iran will receive an immediate, appropriate, and strong response,” he warned, stressing that foreign powers attempting miscalculations will face severe consequences.

The senior Iranian official also noted that while Iran is open to negotiations, they must be grounded in realism and free from unnecessary or extreme demands. “Talks are only possible when based on practicality, mutual respect, and a commitment to avoiding unrealistic demands,” Shamkhani stated.

Analysts view these remarks as a clear signal to the international community that Iran intends to maintain and defend its missile capabilities while remaining cautious in diplomatic engagements. The statement underscores Tehran’s broader strategy of deterrence, signaling readiness to counter external pressures while continuing to assert sovereignty over its defense programs.

Iran’s missile program has long been a point of contention in regional and global diplomacy, with concerns over potential proliferation and military escalation. The latest declaration reinforces Iran’s stance that it considers its missile capabilities essential for national security and non-negotiable under any external influence.

Observers note that such statements may further complicate ongoing diplomatic efforts and could influence regional security dynamics. Tehran’s firm position reflects both strategic calculation and domestic political considerations, reinforcing the message that its defensive programs are integral to national sovereignty.

As tensions persist, the international community will closely monitor Iran’s actions and rhetoric, balancing diplomatic engagement with security concerns while assessing the potential impact on regional stability.
